Extract from this report
-
The value of the Polish VoIP market in 2010 reached PLN 658m. The market experienced a 27% growth year on year.
-
Skype dominates the communicators – at the end of 2010, it had three quarters of active subscribers to paid VoIP services in the segment.
- The top six operators, with 53% of all active users in 2010, comprised only cable networks and fixed telephony operators.
Market commentary by expert
Over the past two years, falling prices of fixed telephony and prominence of fixed mobile substitution have not managed to hinder the development of internet telephony. It was particularly obvious in the segment of small and medium enterprises, where VoIP technology was implemented to the greatest extent, due to the possibility of integrating VoIP telephony with IT systems, as well as the dropping prices. On the other hand, growth in the segment of individual clients was the most apparent among cable network operators and traditional operators of fixed telephony.Zoran Vučković , IT&Telecoms Analyst
