The report also includes the profiles of the biggest players active on the market, with a particular emphasis on the offering for business and services for carriers. Moreover, it covers the financial and operational performance and the most important events and plans related to the activity on the B2B market.

    - the market of VoIP services for the B2B segment
    - the market of internet access services broken down into different enterprise categories (micro, small, medium-sized and large companies)
    - the market of internet access services broken down into different technologies (e.g. optical fibres, copper lines, cable networks, radio and satellite links)
    - retail and wholesale line rental services
    - transit services, domestic roaming and cooperation with MVNOs

  • PMR's estimates regarding the number of enterprises active in Poland, broken down into micro (0-9 staff), small (10-49), medium-sized (50-249) and large (250+) firms, based on ZUS data on the number of companies actually paying contributions.

  • Buying this report you also gain access to a database of Polish suppliers of telecommunications services for the business and carrier segments:
Internet access services for companies of all types and sizes in Poland
    Mobile data transmission services
Fixed-line telephony services for enterprises active in Poland

Who benefits from the analysis?

The report is intended first of all for higher-level managers, sales, marketing and business development directors working for:

  • Fixed-line and mobile telephony operators and internet service providers

  • Companies specialising in infrastructure and optical fibre rental as well as data transmission services

  • Commercial data centres

  • Cable networks that develop, beyond the mass market, dedicated services for the B2B segment

  • Suppliers of telecommunications, network and IT hardware

  • Organisations from beyond the ICT sector cooperating with telecommunications companies

  • BI, research and consulting companies dealing with the telecommunications market

  • Finance institutions, private equity funds and banks involved and investing in the telecommunications sector.

Why to buy the report?

  • The report is the only professional compendium of knowledge available on the Polish market that covers the sector of telecommunications services for businesses and carriers.

  • It analyses the market in terms of volume and value, using the bottom-up method (the presented values represent the sums of defined narrower structures which ensures a clear picture of the whole).

  • The report presents detailed forecasts broken down into different market segments, for the short (2017), medium (2018-2019) and long term (2020-2022).

  • Modelling in which quantitative methods and advanced statistical analysis tools were used made it possible to translate the knowledge of the experts included in PMR's ICT market team into even more precise data and KPIs.

  • Apart from historical series and factors directly linked with the telecommunications market, PMR's many years of experience in macroeconomic analyses was utilised – e.g. for the realistic assessment of the actual number of enterprises active on the Polish market in different size categories, which is of paramount importance when discussing the demand side of the market.

  • Realistic assessment of enterprises active in Poland, broken down into size categories. Most entrepreneurs, after ceasing their business activity, notify the tax office and ZUS thereof, without necessarily sending information to REGON. This results in the number of companies in the REGON database being much higher than our estimate of the number of active enterprises on the market.

Market commentary by expert

The Polish market of telecommunications services for business is a difficult market. Increasingly it turns out that the common belief in profit being relatively higher in the B2B segment than on the mass market rests on shaky foundations. The best example is the data transmission market where the recent years have shown the power of competitive pressure and rivalry for customers. As a result, most operators considered it a success when they recorded only single-digit drops in the proceeds they generated in that segment. A domino effect was triggered and virtually nobody was able to escape price cuts.

Nevertheless, the operators still look favourably upon the business clients as that is the segment characterised by the highest service consumption. Companies and institutions offer cross-selling opportunities and may be interested in more sophisticated solutions, also at the interface of telecommunications, IT or data centre services. A representative of one of the biggest telecoms in Poland we have interviewed when preparing this report concluded that with a large client single services are less important. Some of them may fall short of expectations but what matters is the whole and with a bigger client the offer may be composed so that it brings profit at the end of the day. Consequently, the key factors are flexibility and an extensive portfolio, even if not own then partners'. With a limited number of services the loss of profit on just one of them may be a problem, with the whole contract barely breaking even.

In this context it is even more important to have the best possible understanding of the market, of the changes taking place and evolving trends and to be familiar at least with those market development scenarios for the coming years that seem most likely now.
