Extract from this report

  • The professional lighting fixtures market is strongly linked with the situation in the non-residential and infrastructure segments of the construction market. Due to the sequence of work performed as part of construction projects, similar trends are observed with a two- or three-year delay.
  • 2014 saw the launch of Poland’s first ever exterior lighting-dedicated scheme that provides additional funding for projects developed by the local authorities. The scheme’s budget to fund loans and subsidies amounts to PLN 354m (€84.3m). A set of tasks involving upgrade of municipal lighting valued at PLN 200m (€47.6m) will be performed as part of the first competition within the framework of the scheme - that has just been concluded - which will correspond to about 70,000 new lighting fixtures installed in Polish municipalities.

Market commentary by expert

The estimated value of construction work related to installation of lighting systems in building structures represents about 3-4% of total construction works value, while in the case of contracts for road and railway construction, the value is generally kept under 1%.
