Romanian retail affected by global crisis, but the prospects remain bright - February 2009

Romania’s retail market is currently at the mercy of developments on the international financial market, and thus is condemned to much slower growth rates, compared to the boom period leading up to 2008. Still, the market is expected to remain relatively buoyant in the coming years and, moreover, new international retailers are expected to gain a foothold in the country in 2009 and afterwards.
