Private healthcare providers have captured one-third of the Polish healthcare market - April 2008
In 2007 Poles spent PLN 23bn (€6.1bn) on healthcare services and products, i.e., 13% more than in 2006. Over half of that amount was expenditure on drugs and medical devices. Medical services consumed PLN 5bn (€1.3bn) from patients’ own pockets.
