Impact of March 2009 changes to reimbursement lists on the Polish pharmaceutical market - June 2009

On March 16 the long-waited, newly updated reimbursement lists came into force − the first update of the lists since July 2008, the publication of the update was delayed approximately three months. Last year the lists were updated only once despite the fact that under law they should be refreshed as often as four times a year. It is expected that this year the lists will be amended at least twice. The last update has indeed had an effect on the pharmaceutical market’s performance in the months following the introduction of new reimbursement lists.
